Discover two of the most beautiful walks in West Madeira, come face to face with waterfalls, enjoy the spectacular views of Madeira’s southwest coast, and visit the small fishing village of Paul do Mar. .
Madeira is indeed a paradise for hikers. With Ilha Feliz Tours you have the opportunity to do two of the most beautiful hikes in western Madeira: the route follows narrow paths alongside a medieval levada, within what is arguably the greenest Larissilva forest you’ve ever seen, a forest that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In front of you a waterfall drops down from a height of one hundred metres and a short time later you find yourself at a charming pool into which many streams flow. This is the PR6 25 Fontes & Levada do Risco hike on Madeira, without any doubt one of the most popular hikes on the island.
After having eaten your picnic lunch, you drive towards the southwestern coast and from Prazeres descend the PR19 Caminho Real do Paul do Mar by means of a zigzagging stone path and steps until you reach the coastal village of Paul do Mar. The Caminho Real do Paul do Mar is a hiking route of moderate difficulty and begins at an altitude of about 550 metres. From the very start you can take in the panoramic view from the Lombo da Rocha viewpoint, which lies over the parishes of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar. You will be hiking alone without your guide, the guide being waiting for you in Paul do Mar.
My biggest joy comes from making sure you have the best experience possible. Seeing your smile is truly the best reward! While leaving a tip isn’t required, it is always appreciated as a kind gesture of thanks!
